Seeking God's will and direction is a lifelong journey for every believer. It is a process of discerning His purpose for our lives and aligning our desires and actions with His perfect plan. Thankfully, the Bible provides us with wisdom and guidance on how to navigate this path. In this article, we will explore 15 steps to discernment, using biblical examples and teachings to illuminate our way.
1️⃣ Seek God with all your heart: The first step to seeking God's will is to have a genuine desire to know Him intimately. As King David declared in Psalm 27:8, "My heart says of you, 'Seek his face!' Your face, Lord, I will seek."
2️⃣ Pray for guidance: Prayer is a powerful tool for seeking God's direction. Jesus Himself demonstrated this in the Lord's Prayer, where He taught us to pray, "Your kingdom come, your will be done" (Matthew 6:10).
3️⃣ Study the Word of God: The Bible is the ultimate source of truth and guidance. As stated in Psalm 119:105, "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." Dive deep into Scripture to gain insights on God's will and direction.
