Bikira Maria anaitwa Mama wa Kanisa kwa sababu ni yeye aliyemzaa Yesu Kristo ambaye amelianzisha Kanisa.

Bikira Maria anafaida yeyote kwa Kanisa?

Ndiyo. Bikira Maria ni mwombezi Mkuu wa Kanisa.

Kwa nini wakatoliki wanaweka sanamu Kanisani?

Tunaweka sanamu Kanisani kwa sababu tunaheshimu anayewakilishwa na sanamu hiyo kwa mfano Yesu Kristo, Mama Bikira Maria, Malaika na Watakatifu; na kamwe hatuziabudu. (Kutoka 25:18-22)

Hata Waisraeli kwenye hekalu lao walikua na sanamu kama tunavyosoma hapa;

"18 Nawe fanya makerubi mawili ya dhahabu; uyafanye ya kazi ya kufua, katika hiyo miisho ya kiti cha rehema, huku na huku. 19 Weka kerubi moja mwisho mmoja, na kerubi la pili mwisho wa pili; fanya hayo makerubi ya kitu kimoja na kiti cha rehema, mwisho huku na mwisho huku.20 Na hayo makerubi yatainua mabawa yao juu, na kukifunika hicho kiti cha rehema kwa mabawa yao, na nyuso zao zitaelekeana hili na hili; nyuso za hayo makerubi zitaelekea kiti cha rehema. 21 Weka kiti cha rehema juu ya hilo sanduku, kisha utie huo ushuhuda nitakaokupa ndani ya sanduku. 22 Nami nitaonana nawe hapo, na kuzungumza nawe pale nilipo juu ya kiti cha rehema, katikati ya hayo makerubi mawili yaliyo juu ya sanduku la ushuhuda, katika mambo yote nitakayokuagiza kwa ajili ya wana wa Israeli. Kwa hiyo kama Mungu mwenyewe aliagiza Sanamu za Malaika zichongwe na kusema atakua hapo na kuongea na watu wake. Je sio vyema zaidi kuwa na sanamu na Picha ya Mwanae wa Pekee Yesu Kristo na kuongea na Mungu mbele yake kama alitaka ya malaika ambao sio Mungu?

Mfano mwingine ni pale Mungu alivyomwabia Musa achonge Sanamu ya Nyoka wa shaba.

"BWANA akamwambia Mose, “Tengeneza nyoka wa shaba na umweke juu ya mti, ye yote aliyeumwa na nyoka anaweza kumtazama na akaishi tena.’’ 9Kwa hiyo Mose akatengeneza nyoka wa shaba na kumweka juu ya mti. Kisha wakati mtu ye yote alipoumwa na nyoka, naye akamtazama yule nyoka wa shaba, aliishi." (Hesabu 21:8-9).

Kwa Mfano huu Je tunaweza kusema kuwa sanamu ya nyoka ina nguvu ya uponyaji kuliko ya Yesu aliye Mungu? Kumbuka hapa watu walioona sanamu hii ya nyoka hawakukoponywa na nguvu ya sanamu ya shaba bali kwa nguvu ya neema ya Mungu kupitia Imani kwa Mungu. Kwa hiyo unaposali mbele ya picha au sanamu hautegemei nguvu ya sanamu bali unategemea neema ya Mungu kwa njia ya Imani yako kwa Mungu.

Kama vile Sanamu hii ya nyoka aliyoagiza Mungu iwekwe ilivyowekwa kwa nia ya uponyaji kwa yule aitazamaye vivyo hivyo Sanamu na Picha za Kanisani zinawekwa kwa nia maalumu na kwa neema maalumu. Ndiyo maana hazifanani. Na zinabarikiwa kwa kuombewa Baraka Ili zizae neema kwa wanaozitumia.

Sanamu au picha sio haramu bali maana ya hiyo sanamu au picha ndio inaiharamisha.

Kuna tofauti kati ya kuabudu na kuheshimu. Wakatoliki wanaweka sanamu kwa heshima na sio kwa kuabudu, ndio maana unaposali mbele ya picha ya Yesu hausali ee sanamu nisaidie bali unasema ee Yesu nisaidie.

Je tuseme tunamwabudu Raisi kwa kuheshimu picha yake kwa kuiinamia? Je tunaabudu bendera kwa kuheshimu na kupigia saluti? Je taratibu zabunge za kutoa heshima na taratibu za mahakama ni kuabudu?. Je kuapa mbele ya picha ya Raisi ni kumuabudu Raisi? Je kuapa na Biblia ni kuabudu Biblia? Je tunapobusu Biblia na kuitunza kwa heshima tunaiabudu? Tofauti ya Biblia na sanamu ni nini? Je, kwenye Biblia kinachoheshimiwa ni karatasi au maana ya yale maneno kwenye karatasi. Pengine usingeheshimu kama hujajua kuyasoma.

Kuna tofauti gani kati ya biblia yenye Maandishi na msalaba wa kuchonga wenye kuonyesha kile kinachosemwa na biblia? kama unaweza kuheshimu biblia yenye karatasi tena pale unapoweza kuzisoma na pengine ungeizarau kama ni ya lugha tofauti na hujui kilichoandikwa? Je Msalaba uliobeba maana ya kile kilichoandikwa kwenye Biblia unaona si kitu? Kama Kinachoheshimiwa kwenye Biblia sio karatasi bali maana maneno yaliyoandikwa vivyo hivyo kinachoheshimiwa kwenye picha au sanamu sio chuma yake au mti ukiochongwa bali ni maana ya hiyo sanamu.

Hii ndio maana nasema kuna tofauti ya kuabudu na kuheshimu.

Kumbuka kuwa picha au sanamu yoyote ya Kikatoliki lazima ibarikiwe kwanza ndio uweze Kusali mbele yake. Inapobarikiwa inaombewa uwepo wa yule anayewakilishwa na picha/sanamu hiyo uwe pale sanamu ilipo na anayesali pale sala yake Ifike kwa mlengwa anayeonekana kwa ishara ya sanamu/picha. Kwa Mfano askofu au padri anapobariki sanamu ya Yesu anaomba kuwa "Yesu awepo pale kwenye sanamu na Neema zake", kwa hiyo yeyote anayesali mbele ya sanamu hiyo anaamini kuwa Yesu yuko pale na anasali Mbele yake. Kwa hiyo kinachopewa heshima sio ile sanamu bali ni yule anayeonekana kwa ishara ya ile sanamu au picha.

Tofauti ya Sanamu za Kikatoliki na za kipagani ni Kwamba,

Sanamu za Kipagani: Sanamu hizi huchukuliwa kama Mungu na huabudiwa na kutolewa Sadaka kama Mungu Mwenyewe.

Sanamu za Kikatoliki: Sanamu hizi huchukuliwa kama ishara ya kile inachokiwakilisha, haiabudiwi kamwe bali inaheshimiwa tuu.

Daima Tumia Sanamu na Picha zilizobarikiwa kwani zimenuiwa uwepo wa yule inayemuwakilisha na utaongea naye hapo. Sisi tunaamini kwamba kwenye Sanamu ya Yesu kuna uwepo wa Yesu. Kama vile Mungu anavyowaambia Waisraeli katika (Kutoka 25 :22) baada ya kuwaagiza wachonge sanamu za Makerubi (Malaika) 22 Nami nitaonana nawe hapo, na kuzungumza nawe pale nilipo juu ya kiti cha rehema, katikati ya hayo makerubi mawili yaliyo juu ya sanduku la ushuhuda, katika mambo yote nitakayokuagiza kwa ajili ya wana wa Israeli. (Kutoka 25 :22). Sanamu au picha ni ishara wazi ya uwepo wa kile kisichoonekana.

Jifunze kupitia Sanduku la Agano na Msalaba wa Yesu

Kwenye Agano la kale: Ndani ya hekalu la Waisraeli walikua na Sanduku la agano, sanduku hilo lilikua na vibao vya Amri za Mungu ambavyo ni Ishara ya Agano lao na Mungu na ndani ya sanduku kulikuwepo pia Mfano wa Kiti ambacho kimezugukwa na sanamu za viumbe kama malaika nyuso zao zikielekea kiti hicho Kutoka 25:10-22. Waisraeli walikua wanasali kuelekea sanduku la Agano wanapokuwa Hekaluni na hata wakiwa majumbani mwao walisali kuelekea upande lilipo Hekalu. Waisraeli walisali kuelekea Sanduku la Agano wakiamini kwamba Mungu yupo kati ya sanduku lile. Lakini sanduku lile halikuwa Mungu. Waisraeli waliona fahari juu ya Sanduku lile na walilithamini na kuliheshimu kwa kuwa lilionyesha uwepo wa Mungu na popote lilipokuwa waliamini Mungu yupo.

Kwenye Agano jipya: Wakristu wanasali Mbele ya Msalaba wa Yesu ambao unaonyesha kazi ya wokovu alioufanya Yesu kwa wanadamu ya Kuwakomboa watu kwa kifo chake Msalabani. Na Msalaba huo ni Ishara ya Ukombozi wa Agano jipya na la Milele. Kama ilivyokuwa kwa Sanduku la Agano, Wakristu wanaheshimu msalaba ambao ni ishara ya wokovu wao na wanaamini kuwa Mungu yupo kati ya Msalaba huo lakini Msalaba huo sio Mungu. Wakristu wanaona fahari juu ya msalaba wa Yesu kwa kuwa ndio ishara ya wokovu wao.

FUNZO:Kupitia Mfano wa Sanduku la Agano na Msalaba tunajifunza kuwa Vyote havikuwa Mungu ila vinaheshimiwa kwa Imani kuwa Mungu yupo pale. Vilevile, vyote ni ishara ya wazi ya Agano la Mungu na Wanadamu.

Kwa nini tunasali mbele ya Picha/Sanamu na Hasa kufanya Ishara ya msalaba?

Tunasali mbela ya sanamu kwa sababu tunaamini sanamu inaakisi uwepo wa mhusika aliyechorwa au kuchongwa kwenye hiyo sanamu/picha. Ndio maana wakatoliki wanasali kwenye picha au sanamu iliyobarikiwa tuu kwa sababu Sanamu inapobarikiwa inaombewa uwepo wayule anayewakilishwa pale.

Tunafanya ishara ya msalaba kwenye sanamu kama sala ya utangulizi ambayo inathibitisha kuwa hatuabudu kile kilichoko pale bali kile tunachokifanya tunakifanya huku tukikiri Umungu na Heshima ya Utatu Mtakatifu (Mungu; Baba, Mwana na Roho Mtakatifu.). Vile vile tunamtukuza Mungu katika Utatu Mtakatifu kwa sababu ya yule anayewakilishwa na picha au sanamu.

Kwa nini watu wanabusu picha na sanamu?

Hii ni ishara ya Upendo kwa yule anayewakilishwa kwenye picha au sanamu husika. Hata katika maisha ya kawaida watu hubusu picha za wazazi na wapendwa wao. Maana ni ile ile.

Hapa duniani Yesu alizaliwa na nani?

Hapa duniani Yesu alizaliwa na Bikira Maria kama malaika alivyomuambia:

“Roho Mtakatifu atakujilia juu yako, na nguvu zake Aliye juu zitakufunika kama kivuli; kwa sababu hiyo, hicho kitakachozaliwa kitaitwa kitakatifu, Mwana wa Mungu” (Lk 1:35).

Malaika alimsalimia Maria “umejaa neema”: maana yake nini?

Malaika alimsalimia Maria “umejaa neema” (Lk 1:28) maana ndiye tunda bora la ukombozi ulioletwa na Yesu.

Kwa stahili za Mwanae alikingiwa asirithi kwa wazazi dhambi ya asili na madonda yanayotokana nayo, wala asitende dhambi maisha yake yote.

Kwa nini Maria anastahili kuitwa “Mama wa Mungu”?

Maria anastahili kuitwa “Mama wa Mungu” kwa sababu Mwana wa milele wa Mungu, ambaye ni Mungu sawa na Baba, alifanyika mtu toka kwake. Akiwa mja mzito alishangiliwa: “Umebarikiwa wewe katika wanawake, naye mzao wa tumbo lako amebarikiwa. Limenitokeaje neno hili, hata mama wa Bwana wangu anijilie mimi?

” (Lk 1:42-43).

Je, Bikira Maria ni kama Bahasha au chombo cha kumleta Yesu tuu Duniani au anayo thamani zaidi?

Bikira Maria sio kama bahasha au chombo cha kumleta Yesu tuu duniani. Yesu ametokana na Bikira Maria katika ubinadamu wake. Mwili wa Yesu wa kiubinadamu ni sehemu au uzao wa Bikira Maria. Bikira Maria anayo uhusiano wa damu na Yesu Kristu. Ndiyo maana Mungu alimtakasa Bikira Maria Ili atakayezaliwa kutoka kwake awe na yeye mtakatifu.

Mungu alimtakasa Bikira Maria kabla ya Kuamua kuzaliwa kupitia yeye kwa kuwa Mungu ni Mtakatifu. Ubinadamu wa Yesu (MWILI - Nyama na Damu) asili yake ni Bikira Maria.

Je, Maria amechangia wokovu wetu?

Ndiyo, Maria amechangia wokovu wetu kwa kukubali mpango wote wa Mungu aliyetaka amzae Mwanae, amlee na kumfuata kiaminifu hadi msalabani, aliposhiriki kumtoa kama sadaka ya kutuokoa.

Msimamo wake ulikuwa mmoja tu:

“Tazama, mimi ni mjakazi wa Bwana; na iwe kwangu kama ulivyosema” (Lk 1:38).

Je, Maria ni mama yetu pia?

Ndiyo, Maria ni mama yetu pia: kwa kushiriki kazi yote ya Mwanae, Adamu mpya, amekuwa Eva mpya, mama wa wale wote aliowakomboa msalabani.

“Yesu alipomwona mama yake, na yule mwanafunzi aliyempenda amesimama karibu, alimwambia mama yake, ‘Mama, tazama mwanao’. Kisha akamwambia yule mwanafunzi, ‘Tazama, mama yako’” (Yoh 19:26-27).

Kisha kushirikishwa ufufuko wake, anazidi kutushughulikia kimama tufike salama mbinguni alikotangulia kupalizwa mwili na roho.

Je, ni vizuri kumsifu Maria?

Ndiyo, ni vizuri kumsifu Maria kwa imani yake kama alivyosifiwa na alivyotabiri mwenyewe:

“‘Heri aliyesadiki; kwa maana yatatimizwa aliyoambiwa na Bwana’… ‘Tazama, tokea sasa vizazi vyote wataniita mbarikiwa’” (Lk 1:45,48).

Ni lazima tulitimize hilo neno la Mungu katika kizazi chetu kama kilivyotimizwa na vizazi vilivyotangulia.

Je, sala inaweza kuwaendea Mama na marafiki wa Yesu (Watakatifu)?

Ndiyo, sala inaweza kuwaendea Mama na marafiki wa Yesu, walioungana naye kuwa mwili mmoja, wasiweze kutenganishwa na chochote.

“Kwa maana nimekwisha kujua hakika ya kwamba, wala mauti, wala uzima, wala malaika, wala wenye mamlaka, wala yaliyopo, wala yatakayokuwapo, wala wenye uwezo, wala yaliyo juu, wala yaliyo chini, wala kiumbe kingine chochote hakitaweza kututenga na upendo wa Mungu ulio katika Kristo Yesu Bwana wetu” (Rom 8:38-39).

“Kwangu mimi kuishi na Kristo, na kufa ni faida… Ninatamani kwenda zangu nikae na Kristo” (Fil 1:21,23)

Kwa kuwa hao wako na Kristo mbinguni, wanatuombea mfululizo pamoja naye.

“Niliona chini ya madhabahu roho zao waliochinjwa kwa ajili ya neno la Mungu, na kwa ajili ya ushuhuda waliokuwa nao. Wakalia kwa sauti kuu, wakisema, ‘Ee Mwenyezi, Mtakatifu, Mwenye kweli, hata lini…’” (Ufu 6:9-10).

Tunawaomba wazidi kutuombea kwa Mungu, kama tunavyowaomba wenzetu waliopo duniani.

“Mkikesha kwa jambo hilo na kudumu katika kuwaombea watakatifu wote; pia na kwa ajili yangu mimi” (Ef 6:18-19).

Je, Bikira Maria alikua na watoto wengine Mbali na Yesu?

Je, Bikira Maria ni Bikira Daima au alizaa watoto wengine?

Jibu fupi ni kwamba Bikira Maria hakuzaa watoto wengine na hakuwa na watoto wengine zaidi ya Yesu

Hapo zamani hakuna mkristu au dehebu lolote lililokuwa linapinga kuwa Bikira Maria sio Bikira Daima hata Waprotestanti/walokole waliamini Bikira Maria ni Bikira Hata Baada ya Kumzaa Yesu. Kwenye Miaka ya 1400-1600 Watu wote wakwanza waliopinga Kanisa Katoliki walikubali kuwa Bikira Maria ni Bikira daima wakiwemo Martin Lutha aliyeanzisha kanisa la Lutheran, John Calvin aliyeanzisha Ulokole/Protestanti, Mchungaji Ulrich Zwingli, Heinrich Bullinger, and Thomas Cranmer. Kwa miaka zaidi ya 350 Waprotestant/walokole waliendelea kuamini kuwa Bikira Maria ni Bikira Daima.

Lakini baadae wakristo wengi walianza kupinga kuwa Bikira Maria ni Bikira Daima.

Tunaweza kuthibitisha kuwa Bikira Maria hakuzaa watoto wengine kwa kunukuu Biblia Kama ifuatavyo;

1. Bikira Maria Alikuwa Bikira Kabla ya kumzaa Yesu

Biblia inatuambia wazi kwamba Bikira Maria alikuwa Bikira Kabla ya kumzaa Yesu Kama tunavyosoma katika Luka 1:26-35

26 Mnamo mwezi wa sita, malaika Gabrieli alitumwa na Mungu aende kwenye mji uitwao Nazareti huko Galilaya, 27 kwa msichana mmoja aitwaye Maria, mchumba wa mtu mmoja jina lake Yosefu, wa ukoo wa Daudi. 28 Malaika akamwendea, akamwambia, "Salamu Maria! Umejaliwa neema nyingi! Bwana yu pamoja nawe." 29 Maria aliposikia maneno hayo alifadhaika sana, akawaza: maneno haya yanamaanisha nini? 30 Malaika akamwambia, "Usiogope Maria, kwa maana Mungu amekujalia neema. 31 Utachukua mimba, utamzaa mtoto wa kiume na utampa jina Yesu. 32 Yeye atakuwa mkuu na ataitwa Mwana wa Mungu Mkuu. Bwana Mungu atampa kiti cha mfalme Daudi, babu yake. 33 Kwa hivyo atautawala ukoo wa Yakobo milele, na ufalme wake hautakuwa na mwisho." 34 Maria akamjibu, "Yatawezekanaje hayo, hali mimi ni bikira?" 35 Malaika akamjibu, "Roho Mtakatifu atakushukia, na uwezo wake Mungu Mkuu utakujia kama kivuli; kwa sababu hiyo, mtoto atakayezaliwa ataitwa Mtakatifu, Mwana wa Mungu. (Luka 1:26-35)

2. Biblia Haiwataji ndugu wa Yesu wakati Yosefu na Maria walipokimbilia Misri kumficha Yesu na wakati waliporudi

19 Baada ya kifo cha Herode, malaika wa Bwana alimtokea Yosefu katika ndoto kule Misri, 20 akamwambia, "Amka! Mchukue mtoto pamoja na mama yake, urudi tena katika nchi ya Israeli, maana wale waliotaka kumwua mtoto huyo wamekwisha kufa." 21 Basi, Yosefu aliamka, akamchukua mtoto pamoja na mama yake, akarejea katika nchi ya Israeli. 22 Lakini Yosefu aliposikia kwamba Arkelao mwanawe Herode alikuwa mfalme wa Yudea mahali pa baba yake, aliogopa kwenda huko. Naye baada ya kuonywa katika ndoto, alikwenda katika mkoa wa Galilaya, 23 akahamia katika mji uitwao Nazareti. Ndivyo yalivyotimia maneno yaliyonenwa kwa njia ya manabii: "Ataitwa Mnazare." Matayo 2:19-23

Kama wangekuwepo wadogo zake Yesu Biblia ingetuambia kwamba walikuwa wapi wakati huo na walikuwa na Yesu au la.

3. Biblia haituambii kuwa Yesu alikua na wadogo zake alipokuwa na miaka 12

Wakati wa Maria, Yoseph na Yesu walipoenda Yerusalemu Yesu akiwa na miaka 12 Biblia haituambii kuwa Yesu alikuwa na wadogo zake na walikuwa wapi. Kumbuka walikuwa na Desturi ya kwenda Yerusalemu kila mwaka kwa ajili ya Pasaka familia nzima kama familia. Je hao watoto wengine walikuwa wapi. Kwa nini walikuwa na Yesu Mwenyewe? Maana yake ni kwamba Yesu hakuwa na Wadogo zake.

41 Wazazi wa Yesu walikuwa na desturi ya kwenda Yerusalemu kila mwaka wakati wa sikukuu ya Pasaka. 42 Mtoto alipokuwa na umri wa miaka kumi na miwili, wote walikwenda kwenye sikukuu hiyo kama ilivyokuwa desturi. 43 Baada ya sikukuu, walianza safari ya kurudi makwao, lakini Yesu alibaki Yerusalemu bila wazazi wake kuwa na habari. 44 Walidhani alikuwa pamoja na kundi la wasafiri, wakaenda mwendo wa kutwa, halafu wakaanza kumtafuta miongoni mwa jamaa na marafiki. 45 Kwa kuwa hawakumwona, walirudi Yerusalemu wakimtafuta. 46 Siku ya tatu walimkuta Hekaluni kati ya walimu, akiwasikiliza na kuwauliza maswali. 47 Wote waliosikia maneno yake walistaajabia akili yake na majibu yake ya hekima. 48 Wazazi wake walipomwona walishangaa. Maria, mama yake, akamwuliza, "Mwanangu, kwa nini umetutenda hivyo? Baba yako na mimi tumekuwa tukikutafuta kwa huzuni." 49 Yeye akawajibu, "Kwa nini mlinitafuta? Hamkujua kwamba inanipasa kuwa katika nyumba ya Baba yangu?" 50 Lakini wazazi wake hawakuelewa maana ya maneno aliyowaambia. 51 Basi, akarudi pamoja nao hadi Nazareti, akawa anawatii. Mama yake akaweka mambo hayo yote moyoni mwake. 52 Naye Yesu akaendelea kukua katika hekima na kimo; akazidi kupendwa na Mungu na watu. (Luka 2:41-52).

Kwa hiyo Biblia haionyeshi kuwa Yesu alikuwa na kaka na dada wakati akiwa na miaka 12. Kama wangekuwepo wangetajwa hapa kuwa walikuwa pamoja na Wazazi wao kama Yesu au walikuwa na Yesu wakati anapotea. Biblia haituambii chochote kwa hiyo wakati huo hapakuwa na wadogo zake Yesu.

4. Kukosekana kwa neneo "Binamu" kwenye lugha ya Yesu

Wakristu wa kwanza pamoja na Yesu aliongea Kiaramaiki au Kiebrania. Katika lugha zote hizo hakuna neno "Binamu" kwa hiyo mabinamu walijulikana kama dada na kaka wa mtu. Kwenye Agano jipya Neno kaka na Dada lilitumika pia kuwakilisha binamu.

Biblia inapotuambia kuwa Kaka na dada zake Yesu haimaanishi kaka wa kuzaliwa bali ndugu au Binamu

55 Je, huyu si yule mwana wa seremala? Je, mama yake si anaitwa Maria, na ndugu zake si kina Yakobo, Yosefu, Simoni na Yuda? 56 Na dada zake je, si wote wako hapa pamoja nasi? Basi amepata wapi haya yote?" (Mathayo 13:55-56)
